Peter Farmiloe

1975 to 1976

Peter completed his schooling gaining University Entrance and Higher School Certificate.  He enjoyed and participated in a range of sports – swimming, athletics, golf etc.

On leaving school he qualified as a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.  For 36 years he has worked in aircraft engineering and is currently with Air NZ Technical Operations Fleet Engineering as Liaison Senior Support Engineer.  When Peter first trained he was with James Aviation in Hamilton for four years 1977-1981.  From there Peter maintained aircraft in outback Western Australia for a couple of years and then became Chief Engineer of Air Rarotonga, Cook Islands from 1984 to 1989.  On returning to New Zealand Peter has held the position of Licensed Aircraft Engineer and Senior Support Engineer with Air New Zealand where he presently works.

Peter has travelled extensively around the Pacific, in Asia, Europe, USA and Canada as well as seeing much of Australia

Peter loves holidaying in Rarotonga (and beyond), spending quality time with family, working on his classic BMW’s and is “doing up” their 1920’s house in Bayswater.

Peter met his wife in Rarotonga and they have a 12 year old daughter Nelly.
