Moira Moroney

1979 to 1983

Moira gained a Bursary in 1983 and went on to complete a Diploma in Parks, Recreation and Tourism at Lincoln University in 1987.  Later she graduated with a Diploma in Management from Massey University in 1993.

This interesting qualification resulted in a very stimulating career for Moira.  She commenced her professional career as a Project Planner for Hamilton City then moved to (the metropolis) Te Aroha to become a Market Analyst followed by Marketing Manager for Valley Power.

Not stimulating enough Moira got into Market Research and founded “Key Research” in 1993.  In 2001 Moira sold this successful business to spend more time with her son Alex.

Soon after she entered the export industry as Sales and Marketing Manager for Baytex, then took a contract marketing role while searching for her next business venture.  With her partner Bob Sievwright, Moira established the export company Base3usa in 2006.  Base3usa now stores goods and fulfils orders in the USA for over twenty kiwi exporters.  Moira runs this business remotely from Tauranga.  Not content with running one highly successful business, she is currently working on a new business venture to be launched in 2012.

Moira has sat on the Board of the Chamber of Commerce, Tauranga and Tourism Bay of Plenty and is currently an active member of Export Bay of Plenty.

Her son Alex is in year 12 at Tauranga Boys College where one of his main interests is cricket.  I hear from an associate of Moira’s that she is a cricket umpire of some repute!

At school Moira was always a “go ahead” individual and she says her time here was a great springboard to her lifetime successes.
