Kylie Thompson (Darroch)
Kylie is an incredibly talented artist and graphic designer. As well as achieving top grades in NCEA in all areas she excelled in all facets of art. At the end of Year 13 Kylie won the Keeley Scholarship ($1000) and the AUT Academic Excellence Scholarship (course fees for the first year of university).
Kylie also enjoyed sport and played netball to a good level.
At school she won the following art awards:
2005 – Matamata Veterinary Services Photography Award Winner: $250
2005 – Winner of Metso Art Competition: $1000
2004 – 3rd place in Metso Art Competition: $200
2004 – Winner of Waikato Fast Food Restaurant Graphic Design Competition: $100
2002 – Winner of Matamata Piako Waitangi Day Art Competition: $250
On leaving Kylie attend the Auckland University of Technology and completed the first year of a Graphic Design Degree and has completed the PrintNZ Digital Print Processes apprenticeship in April 2011.
Kylie has worked for Tainui Press Design and Print (Matamata) since 2007. Much of her work has been received prestigious awards and is particularly visible in the horse racing industry.

2011 – Designer of the NZ Pride In Print Awards Highly Commended Waikato Stud 2010 annual stallion book
Currently Kylie is mixing work with being a first-time mum. Billie Maree Thompson was born on 14 September 2012.
