Isapela Fox-Tuimaseve (Belle)
What a sporting talent and all-round great citizen of the college. Izy (as I knew her – now Belle) was involved in many aspects of school life and was a popular and out-going student. She worked studiously in the classroom gaining School Certificate and going through to Form 7 (Year 13) achieving Higher School Certificate. Her flair on the netball court was undeniable and not only was she in every “A” team from F3 to F7, she played for the Matamata A Rep team and when is left school Izy played Waikato Premier netball and represented Waikato at Under 18 and Under 21 age groups. She was also a talented athlete, played basketball and performed on stage in school productions.
Post secondary school Belle has had an outstanding academic record. She graduated with a B Ed (Hons), B Tch (Hons), PGDip Ed, Restorative Practice, Neuro-science Adolescent Brain Training. In between gaining all these qualifications Belle has worked in the Film Industry as Arts Department and Wardrobe Assistant in various New Zealand short films, feature films and commercials. Then came her teaching career starting as a classroom teacher at the Intermediate in Matamata then a supplementary learning support teacher and a facilitator for Work Action. Currently Belle is a Speaker and Facilitator of Learning at the Royal NZ Police College. She is also a Resource Teacher of Learning and Behaviour specialising in Maori and Pasifika achievement in Secondary Schools. She works with adolescent response to behaviour, youth at risk within Youth Justice and Care and Protection teams.
Not only is her working week filled to capacity she has a 13 year old daughter who is following in Izy’s footsteps on the netball court.
