Bruce Dale (Deceased 2016)
Bruce and his twin brother (Colin) attended Matamata College from 1965-1969. He completed 6A and gained Higher School Certificate, having earlier been accredited UE and gained top marks in School Certificate.
From school Bruce went to Waikato University where he graduated with a M.Ed (Master of Education). He followed that with teacher training gaining a Diploma in Teaching. Bruce also studied theology and has an L.Th qualification plus a GDip.S.M qualification.
He has combined his teaching career with working in the church as an Anglican Priest. Bruce taught Geography and English at Te Awamutu College, Forest View High School, was Assistant Principal at Taumarunui High School and was Deputy Principal at Waitakere College. He then became Principal of Te Kuiti High School for five years. While there his greatest achievements and developments in the school were improving quality of teaching and student achievements.
Bruce returned to Auckland and became Principal of Henderson Intermediate School. He is now near retiring age and is currently helping out with day-relief at Matamata College.
Bruce has vast overseas travel experiences having been to 28 different countries. Now he is enjoying the quiet life of his hometown Matamata.
