Aaron Simmonds

2002 to 2006

It’s come as no surprise that Aaron has wound up in a job where talking is the number one requisite.  After gaining NCEA Level 1 and 2 at school, Aaron headed for the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic and gained his National Certificate in Radio and followed that up with a Bachelor of Broadcast Communications (Journalism), from the New Zealand Broadcasting School in Christchurch.

At school he was a ‘full-on’ sportsman.  He played for three years in the 1st XV rugby and in Year 13 Aaron was the co-captain.  In swimming and athletics he represented the school at TV level for five years.  Aaron was a sprinter of some repute.

Aaron’s work has taken him from Matamata to Tauranga, to Christchurch, to Invercargill, to Auckland, to Dunedin and now he works in Hamilton.  In 2008-2009 Aaron was a Journalist at Radio Live in Invercargill.  2010-2011 he was Promotional Co-ordinator and 10 to 2 announcer for More FM in Dunedin and presently Aaron is the Promotions Manager at The Radio Network in Hamilton.  He says he has managed to turn his passion for talking, about himself, into a career path!

His next step is to take all the radio stations that come under his watch to #1 in their respective demographic and then he may look at travel.
