Our Year 9 Leaders enjoyed a well-deserved pizza lunch on the last day of term. These fantastic students helped with our Year 8 visit on Friday, September 15. In addition, Quaide Balsom and Elisabeth Watkins each delivered a short speech to our prospective parents during our Open Day on Tuesday, September 19. They all did an exemplary job of representing Matamata College and we're very proud of them. Ka rawe!

It's been a great day raising awareness of Mental Health issues as well as raising money to support those who work with our rangatahi in this area.

Several individuals and groups of students have done a great job walking throughout the day. As of 3pm, Jayden McDonald had covered 37km, while the group of Eva Williams, Ashley Luxford and Jas Singh had gone past the 30km milestone at the same stage. These three Year 13 students have their own Givealittle page which has already raised over $1000 for our excellent cause.

Well done and many thanks to everyone who has contributed throughout the day. We're here until 6pm, There are still some sausages on the barbecue, along with great company and good music.
