At the Waikato Junior Volleyball prize giving three Matamata players were named in the “Star Six” teams for the competition.

The boys’ Star Six, featured Ollie Morton-Farrelly, a fine achievement as this was Ollie’s first season of volleyball. He impressed with his presence at the net, both on attack and as a blocker.

The girls’ Star Six, included both Casey Jones and Mollie Allison. Casey earned her selection with her consistent setting and strong blocking presence while Mollie impressed with her serving, passing and fine attacking play.

Mollie was also awarded the Most Valuable Player of the girls’ competition. This award usually goes to a player from the winning team which indicates that the level of her play was extremely high.

Well done to these athletes on their achievements
