This Year, Matamata Golf Croquet club hold the NZ Under 21 tournament. Five Matamata College students are Participating.

Nicolas Concha, Naomi Turner, Stephen Turner, Alanna Meadowcroft and Alyssa Meadowcroft are all competing this weekend representing not only the college but, our local club and region too. Our students were introduced to the sport through the college after the club came to us to generate more knowledge of the sport. They train at the club in Pohlen Park every Wednesday at 3:30pm.

There will be 19 Doubles pairs and 31 singles. The tournament runs from October 18th through to the 22nd. Competitors are coming from all over New Zealand and some competitors represent New Zealand Internationally for the sport. It is rapidly growing sport here in New Zealand and our students could have a chance to represent our country if they keep up their good work.

Golf Croquet has a much simpler set of rules than its association croquet, meaning it is more interactive and takes less time to complete. making it fun for all ages. Anyone is welcome to head down to the club to have a game and see if Golf Croquet is for you.
